Scheduled to open in March, 2025 this project represents the collaborative efforts to create an inviting, welcoming, family-friendly destination for local residents and visitors.
A Community-Centered Space
The building goes back to the 1930's and has been home to a variety of tenants, including the former City Hall and Jail. Extensive efforts have been made to preserve the character defining features of the building, including the original marble tile walls. With Hensley Plaza, TCR aims to provide local experiences where people can gather, socialize and enjoy the charm of downtown Jasper. The plaza is designed to be an inviting, open-air space with a variety of amenities like firepits, entertaining games, outdoor seating, and allow local performers or musicians an opportunity to showcase their talents

What to Expect at Hensley Plaza
Hensley Plaza will offer a variety of simple, welcoming amenities that encourage community engagement and socializing. In addition to mountain range views, the plaza will have live music, historical plaques, a community garden, outdoor games like cornhole, pet-friendly environment, a book exchange, and bike parking. The future phases include murals and artwork on the exterior walls, an EV charging station and recycling program.
A Tribute to Local History
Hensley Plaza is named after Hensley's Service Center, a fixture in the Jasper community and previous owner of the building for over 30 years before retiring. Terry added that "we've been talking to the Hensley's to try and capture their stories and history from their perspective. We've already found empty moonshine bottles in the ceiling panels and old sidewalk bricks that will be repurposed into the landscape."
Terry, who is also President of the Pickens County Small Business Development Council (SBDC), wants this initiative to help other locally owned, downtown businesses prosper as well. Terry said that he understands people are naturally skeptical of change, but wants the space to be an additive that helps other locally owned businesses be more sustainable and drive more foot traffic to their establishments.
Terry said that it "was also important to use all Georgia-based tradesmen and suppliers for the renovations as part of a further effort to invest in local economic development. We wanted to be mindful of the environmental impact as well. We placed an emphasis on the landscape design and streetscape around the plaza to help beautify the aesthetics of the surrounding area. The lot the plaza sits on had become vacant and dilapidated. We hope this type of project inspires other property owners. We are all in this together."

First Tenant to Open in March, 2025
The first of two tenants will be The Wall Street Barbering Company, LLC with an official grand opening in March, 2025. Amy Leake, the founder of Salon 84 in downtown Jasper, is behind the new company and excited about expanding into Hensley Plaza. Leake said, "this expansion aligns with our own community-oriented mission - we can't wait to be a part of Hensley Plaza and offer Jasper's first luxury barbering experience."
Terry went on to say that "Amy is such an amazing ambassador for Jasper. Amy is committed, cares and is the type of tenant we want to partner with and help set-up for long term success."
TCR is actively pre-leasing for a tenant to occupy the approx 2500sf directly connected and integrated to the plaza. Margot Weatherford with eXp Realty at Northgate Station in Marble Hill, GA is leading the leasing efforts and added "this is an incredibly unique opportunity to be in the heart of an emerging downtown district in North Georgia. The location has excellent line of sight, visibility for branding and comes with over 40 dedicated parking spaces as part of the lease.
