Neighborhood Credit Union proudly sponsored the Cottonwood Art Festival and continued its long-time support of the Emerging Artist Program by awarding scholarships to five outstanding young artists.
DALLAS, April 10, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Neighborhood Credit Union, the oldest credit union in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, is proud to continue its sponsorship of the Cottonwood Art Festival's Emerging Artists Program in Richardson. This annual initiative highlights exceptional student artists from Richardson ISD and offers them a platform to showcase their work at an internationally recognized fine arts festival.
Ten talented high school students—from sophomores to seniors—were selected based on a competitive application process that required multiple artwork submissions and artist statements. Thanks to Neighborhood Credit Union's support, these students are participating in a month-long exhibit at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and will display and sell their work at the Cottonwood Art Festival on May 2-3, 2025, alongside established professional artists.
As part of the program, students also benefit from the Emerging Artists Workshop Series, which provides mentorship and instruction from professional artists and university-level educators, helping them grow their artistic skill and confidence.
In recognition of outstanding work, a panel of judges selected five students to receive awards and scholarship donations from Neighborhood Credit Union. Monica Bravo received Best of Show and a $750 scholarship; Max Young was awarded Second Place and a $500 scholarship; Ray Hunter earned Third Place and a $300 scholarship; and Honorable Mentions were awarded to Victoria Martinez and Ayianna Wooten, each receiving $200 scholarships.
