East Penn Manufacturing is proud to announce the success of its first-ever public Power2Recycle drive-thru battery return event, created to make lead battery recycling more convenient, accessible, and rewarding for the community.
LYON STATION, Pa., May 12, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- East Penn Manufacturing is proud to announce the successful results of its first-ever public Power2Recycle drive-thru battery return event, held April 25 in Lyon Station, PA.
In just four hours, the event welcomed 307 vehicles and collected 828 used lead batteries, all of which will be recycled and reprocessed locally as part of East Penn's closed-loop system.
Designed to make lead battery returns more convenient and rewarding, the event offered double the standard reimbursement for qualifying batteries, including automotive, truck, marine, lawn and garden, and golf cart batteries. Participants also received family-friendly Power2Recycle giveaways and had opportunities to win prizes—all from the convenience of their vehicles.
